The redefined KUHN GA 8731+ and GA 9531+ center-delivery twin-rotor rotary rakes are built on the popularity of the prior generation of KUHN’s twin-rotor rakes with the incorporation of the Masterdrive® GIII double-reduction gearbox. The main gearbox features the KUHN exclusive double reduction drive that not only provides consistent windrow formation in varying crop conditions, but also improves the power flow through the gearbox. These models have a lighter, but stronger construction with aluminum rake arm housings, large cam bearings and cam track designed to reduce peak loads. They maintain the KUHN double-bend tine arm design that offers clean raking and excellent capacity for consistent, fluffy windrows. The GA 8731+ has fixed tine arms. For operations where transport height is a concern, the GA 9531+ has easily removable tine arms. |

Heavy-Duty Components for Long Service Life
The patented KUHN Masterdrive GIII double-reduction gearbox is designed for heavy crops, tough field conditions, and intensive use. Key components have been improved to build lighter, yet stronger rotors such as: aluminum alloy housings, optimized cam track minimizing force on the follower bearing, larger follower bearing diameter reducing rotation speed and pressure on the cam, tine arms with large-dimension bearings, sturdier pivoting tine support shaft, reinforced main shaft, and reinforced mounting of tine arms on tine holders. The Masterdrive GIII’s ability to move heavy, wet crop, handle dry hay gently, and neatly windrow corn stalks is unrivaled in the industry. |
Double-curved tine arms are designed to form fluffy and straight windrows for superior raking quality at high speeds. Fluffy windrows allow more air movement through the crop promoting fast and uniform drying! KUHN rotary rakes achieve this by following two basic principles for ideal windrow formation. First, the tine arms maintain a positive forward position right up to the point where the forage is delivered to the windrow ensuring gentle crop handling and minimal ash incorporation. Second, a steep cam track allows the tines to be raised very quickly to provide additional clearance over the windrow. |
Superior Ground Adaptation & Stability
High-quality raking is only possible if the rotors are able to follow undulating terrain smoothly and closely without damaging the crop stubble. The GA 8731+ and 9531+ features 3D rotor articulation for excellent field adaptation. The rotor arm and rotor are connected by a double link rod which enables the 3D articulation, rotors follow ground contours efficiently to help you harvest a cleaner crop. |
Tine height adjustments are made on each rotor with a simple hand crank. Each rotor has four total 16 X 6.50-8 super-balloon tires, two front caster wheels and two rear fixed wheels to help follow changing ground contours to avoid tines from striking the ground. |
Both rotors can be quickly lifted with a single-acting hydraulic valve for lifting over obstacles and automatically locking the rotor lift during turns at field headlands to eliminate rotor swinging. |
